First Steps:

Make sure you have CSS/TF2 installed, and make sure you at least launched it once or twice. (TF2 is optional, not needed).

Launch Garry's Mod and head to the Options section, then navigate to Other, and ensure the last setting is set to

'Allow all custom files from server'. This will make it so the server can send all our custom files directly to you.(Image to the right >>>)

Make sure you have the content pack installed (Genesis Content Pack) and that you have at least restarted your game once.

Alternative for buying CSS

If you don’t feel like spending money on CSS, just to get textures on GMod, you can follow a free alternative.

Navigate to http://fragplays.com/gmod-textures/, and press the download button.

When you have downloaded the file, extract the file into a separate folder.

Now navigate into “SteamsteamappscommonGarrysModgarrysmodaddons”, and extract the CSS files into the addons folder.

Still Having Issues?

If you are still having issues at this point, and most models are big “ERROR” signs,

the content pack has not been installed correctly. To fix this, navigate to your “SteamsteamappscommonGarrysModgarrysmodaddons” folder.

In here, delete all files starting with “genesis_”. (picture shown on the right >>>>>)

After you have successfully deleted all the files, return back to the content pack (Genesis Content Pack), and re-subscribe ALL addons in there.
